Tally

We love Tally! We have been using Tally to capture submissions to the stack and are really pleased with how easy it is to use and create beautiful forms. Tally’s has put a lot of thought and design into creating, publishing, and managing forms. Notion users will also fill at home with Tally, because the form builder looks and feels just like Notion. We have also used Tally to create courses and fairly complex logic-dependent surveys, which all work great. We have also been impressed with the Tally team and the monthly new features and functionality releases.

Similar to Notion blocks, enter a backslash to view and add inputs blocks (e.g., dropdowns, email), layout blocks (e.g., headings), embed blocks (e.g., image, video, audio), and advanced blocks (e.g., conditional logic, calculated fields).

One of our favorite features of Tally is the ability to receive a notification of a new submission and the ability to send a customized email confirmation to the form submitter. No need to integrate with a third-party email provider for responses to form submissions.

Tally offers a wide selection of community and Tally-created forms and survey templates to choose from, so you don’t have to start with a blank slate.

Fillout

We recently discovered Fillout, and we are really impressed. Fillout is very similar to Tally because it supports most questions, logic, and customization. The pre-built templates and easy-to-use forms builder make it a top contender to Tally. We also like to see frequent product updates and new feature announcements.

Fillout’s form editor makes it super easy to add different types of questions (e.g., multiple choice, checkbox, matrix) and customize them to fit your brand and Notion page.

NotionForms

NotionForms is a good basic no-code form builder option with a decent free plan. It is worth noting that according to the NotionForms change logs, the product hasn’t been updated since June 2022, which is a bit concerning if you require additional features.

Simple.ink, the Notion website builder, offers a Notion forms builder that works well with its websites and within in Notion. Unlike Tally and Fillout, we haven’t released many updates or new features by the Simple.ink team.

Like others, you can build a form and embed the form as in Notion or on your website.

Chilipepper

This is a very basic but affordable option to capture and sync form responses in a Notion table. With limited functionality, the most common use case for Chilipepper is collecting emails. Chilipepper made a big splash when it launched in 2020, but there haven’t been much for updates or new features.

Forms Builders That Sync Form Submissions to a Notion Database

If you plan to capture form submissions in a Notion database but outside of Notion or on a Notion-powered website, consider a few form building options. The following form builders have native integrations (i.e., don’t require an additional service like Zapier) with Notion:

  • Paperform
  • Typeform
  • forms.app

We are big fans of using forms to engage and better serve our community, so we hope you can do the same with one of the Notion form providers. Please let us know if you have any questions or recommend a service not listed here.
